It's almost here: The 21-Day Challenge returns!

Just three weeks of consistent behavior can carry you well on your way to a new habit. That's why we created the annual 21-Day Challenge: to help you keep engaging with the Bible every day. Start a new Bible Plan now… and start each day in this new year with a fresh perspective.

21-Day Challenge Prizes

Here's how it works.

Beginning February 1, complete at least one day of one Bible Plan every day for 21 days, and you'll earn our special 2017 21-Day Challenge badge, and be eligible for exciting prizes.

You don't have to do just one Plan that's 21 days (or more). You can do a series of shorter Plans, one after the other. Just make sure you complete at least one day of at least one Plan for every one of the 21 days!1

1 This is the short version. We'll post the complete list of official rules on our blog soon.

Start by finding some Plans.

The 21-Day Challenge begins in just a few days, so we recommend that you start looking now for the Plans you'll want to do during the Challenge. The Plans we've listed below aren't required for the Challenge; they're just some ideas to help you get started. When you find a Plan you think you'd enjoy, open it and tap "Save for Later." Then, remember to start your Plan on February 1!

Listen to your Bible.

Listen to your Bible.

When you select a Bible that features audio, the Bible App can read to you.

Let the Bible App read to you.

Twenty times every second, people from all over the world click "Play" on another audio chapter of the Bible inside the Bible App. Just imagine: listening to God's Word while you exercise, while you get ready for work, during your commute…or whenever you want.1 You might even enjoy listening as you read along. It's easy:

Audio Play button

Tap the speaker icon.

Inside the Bible App, when you see a speaker icon in the menu above the Bible text, tap it, then tap Play. If you don't see a speaker icon above the Bible version you're reading…

Available Audio Versions in English

Switch versions.

Tap the version abbreviation at the top of the app. Select any version with a speaker icon next to it. When you return to the Bible reader, tap the speaker icon.

Start Listening

1 Listening while connected to Wi-Fi does not use your mobile data plan. All Bibles that feature audio have a speaker icon next to them. To see all available versions, just tap your current Bible version.

Even one verse at a time.

Several of the audio Bibles we feature can read to you one verse at a time (many play only one chapter at a time). Try listening to the daily passages from one of your subscribed Plans with one of these audio Bible versions:

American Standard Version
Biblica English NIV-UK
Douay-Rheims Challoner Revision 1752
English Standard Version
Good News Translation
Good News Translation (US Version)
Holman Christian Standard Bible
King James Version
Lexham English Bible
New International Version
New Living Translation
New American Standard Bible
World English Bible

Get more from audio.

Select Bible App platforms even offer advanced audio playback features:

On your Apple device:

You can:

  • Select the playback speed you want.
  • Skip backward or forward 30 seconds.
  • Set the playback Timer, and make God's Word the soundtrack to whatever you're doing.

On your Android device:

When you select a Bible version that features audio, a play/pause button appears at the bottom, "floating" above the Bible text, to let you begin listening with just one tap. (Choose whether to show or hide this floating button with the "Show Controls" switch.)
